Five Reasons Why Brighton is a Fantastic Place to live!

I moved to Brighton & Hove four years ago after leaving University. I was looking for a young, vibrant and friendly town that didnt have the hustle and bustle of London. I wasnt disappointed!

These are my five reasons why Brighton is a fantastic place to live:-

1) Obviously No 1 is going to be the BEACH! Perfect for people who find sand annoying, Brighton has a great stretch of coastline with something always going on at the weekends - London to Brighton Bike Rride, Brighton Marathon and Paddle round the pier to name but a few.

2) Great Pubs and Restaurants. Brighton is well know as a huge destination for Hen and Stag Do's but for local people in the know there is loads of fantastic pubs, bars and restaurants in Brighton & Hove. If you are looking for a quiet pub garden on a lazy Sunday afternoon, the best place to go is Hove Place on First Avenue in Hove. Tucked away in a residential street, it has a lovely Italien style garden and the food is amazing http://www.goldenliongroup.co.uk/bars-and-pubs/hove-place.

If you like Indian Food, there is no place like Hove Tandori on Church Road, Hove. This restaurant is small and intimate and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. Make sure you book in advance as this place is always busy http://www.hovetandoori.com/.

3) Great Sport. We are blessed to be home to the Brighton & Hove Albion football team who have die-hard supporters who have remained loyal throughout the years. Fans have finally been rewarded with a shiny new stadium, the Amex, based in Falmer and we have also been recently promoted. http://www.seagulls.co.uk/page/Welcome

We also have the Sussex County Cricket Club based in Hove who have had a very sucessful couple of years and also have a newly developed ground. http://www.sussexcricket.co.uk/

4) Great History and Architecture. The ancient settlement of Brighthelmstone dates from before Domesday Book (1086), but it emerged as a health resort featuring sea bathing during the 18th century and became a destination for day-trippers from London after the arrival of the railway in 1841.

Brighton & Hove seafront is stunning with streets lined with Regency Buildings and with the Royal Pavillion still proving to be a popular tourist destination.

5) Great Commnunity. Brighton may be a city but it has a small Town mentality where everyone knows everybody. Many Brighton residents have been here all of their lives and have vowed never to move-away. It you need advice or the services of a local business, the recommendations always come pooring in.
